INOVA Diagnostics Announces New Environmentally Friendly Packaging

San Diego, CA, November 11, 2009

At INOVA Diagnostics, we are committed to the conservation of our natural resources and actively search for environmentally friendly alternatives. After careful evaluation and testing, we are pleased to announce two changes in our current method of packing our products for shipment that support this commitment.

Beginning immediately, the starch-based loose fill foam will be replaced with recycled paper filler. This change was also implemented due to numerous customer requests for a packing material that is easier to work with and handle. The initial feedback from both shipping and receiving personnel on the use of recycled paper has been very favorable.

Later this month, we will eliminate the Styrofoam'" panels we have been using with some of our shipments. To ensure our products continue to be adequately protected during shipping, all boxes 12x12x12 inches and larger will be of double-walled construction rather than the current single-walled construction. We found that double-walled boxes provide similar protection from mishandling during transit compared to single-walled boxes with Styrofoam'" panels. Additionally, our testing revealed that there was no impact on product performance between products shipped in double-walled boxes as compared to singlewalled boxes with Styrofoam'" panels.

Both domestic and International shipping studies were performed that proved these new shipping materials provide comparable results to our current shipping materials.
